On June 20, a delegation from the University of Business and Science in the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by Prof. JUMAEV Elyorjon, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, visited the University of Tsukuba to explore opportunities for future collaboration. The delegation was welcomed by Dr.KATO Mitsuyasu, Vice President and Executive Director for Education; Professor USUYAMA Toshinobu, Provost of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences; Professor DADABAEV Timur of the same institute; and Associate Professor KAJIYAMA Yuji from the Bureau of Global Initiatives.

During the meeting, Dr. KATO emphasized the University of Tsukuba's key initiatives to strengthen partnerships with overseas universities and promote internationalization through the active exchange and acceptance of international students. In response, Prof. JUMAYEV expressed his interest in establishing collaboration with the University of Tsukuba, particularly in his area of expertise—engineering, as well as in fields such as the humanities, social sciences, AI, and language processing. He also noted that the collaboration with the University of Tsukuba's "Nippon Foundation Central Asia-Japan Human Resource Development Project (NipCA)" had served as a catalyst for building stronger ties.

This visit is expected to mark the starting point for further mutual exchange between the two universities.
