Holding of the "STUDY in Japan Fair" in Saint-Petersburg, Russian Federation

The Study in Japan Fair was held in Saint-Petersburg, Russian Federation on September 19.


As part of the Study in Japan Global Network Project (Russia and CIS) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology entrusted to Hokkaido University, the University of Tsukuba, and Niigata University, this fair, which started in October 2018, is an All Japan promotion project aiming to increase students from Russia and CIS Countries to Japan.


The "STUDY in Japan Fair in Saint-Petersburg" was co-organized by the Consulate-General of Japan in Saint-Petersburg, the Japan Center in St. Petersburg, and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) St. PETERSBURG at Ambassador Hotel within the city on September 19. There are about 250 people including students wishing to study in Japan and their guardians who visited.


A total of 10 organizations including 6 universities, a Japanese language school, and 3 other organizations, cooperated to provide information on studying in Japan. In the fair, an explanation for studying in Japan and Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship was given and the presentations by each organization were made, and a report by a person who had done overseas study in Japan experience reporting meeting was delivered by the Japanese University Alumni Association of St. Petersburg and a career seminar was made by JETRO and Japanese companies. There was an opportunity to provide comprehensive information on studying in Japan from the beginning to campus life and career after one's overseas study experience.


Furthermore, on the day before the fair, September 18, an exchange meeting was held at universities and high schools in Saint-Petersburg where an explanation for studying in Japan was given and exchange of views on inter-university exchange between Japan and Russia were engaged.
