Delegation from the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University visits Vice President Shimizu

A delegation led by First Vice-Rector Burkitbayev Mukhambetkali of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University made a courtesy visit to Vice President for Education Satoshi Shimizu on March 27, 2019.


The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is known as the top university in Kazakhstan that consists of 14 faculties. Since a partnership agreement with the university in October 2007, the University of Tsukuba established the University of Tsukuba Almaty Office at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and has had active academic and research exchanges.


In the visit, they exchanged opinions and shared ideas on the future agreement of the Campus-in-Campus (CiC) partnership between the two universities. First Vice-Rector Burkitbayev Mukhambetkali also introduced their strong network with global and local industrial circles. After that, for each field of specialty (Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Humanities and Social Sciences) they exchanged opinions on each research field whit our faculty members, later toured the Plasma Research Center and the Center for Computational Sciences. On the 26th, the researchers of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University gave lectures in a workshop on The Nippon Foundation Central Asia-Japan Human Resource Development Project.
