International agreement for academic cooperation between Plant Resilience Institute, Michigan State University and Tsukuba-Plant Innovation Research Center, University of Tsukuba

On November 21st, 2017, International agreement for academic cooperation between PRI, MSU and T-PIRC, UT was concluded at Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI, USA. The ceremony for signing MOU by Dr. Steven D. Hanson (Associate Provost and Dean International Studies and Programs, MSU) and Prof. Hiroshi Ezura (Director of T-PIRC, UT) was held.

PRI, MSU has strengths in plant immunity and low-temperature response researches. T-PIRC, UT has established bioresources and knowledge about transgenic plants. To improve international research competitiveness, we will exchange of materials in education and research, publications, and academic information and conduct joint research projects.

Members in MSU have already visited UT three times. On September, 2017, four members of PRI, MSU, Prof. Michael Thomashow (Director), Prof. Gregg Howe, Prof. Brad Day, and Assist. Prof. David Lowry made great presentation at T-PIRC symposium in Tsukuba Global Science Week 2017. During their vising UT, we discussed about international academic exchange, and then, MOU was signed when our visiting MSU. We will promote international collaborative researches, exchange faculties and students, and improve our research competitiveness.
