Goalball Player Ms. Takahashi Visits President Nagata



Ms. Rieko Takahashi (second-year student in the College of Disability Sciences / a member of the national goalball team designated to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics) took part in the following international goalball competitions.


- Malmo Lady and Men Intercup 2017
Venue: Sweden
Date: May 25 (Fri) - 27 (Sun)
Record: 2nd place


- 2017 International Trakai Goal ball Tournament
Venue: Lithuania
Date: June 2 (Fri) - 4 (Sun)
Record: 4th place


Ms. Takahashi made a courtesy visit to the university board of directors on August 22. The board members included President Kyosuke Nagata, Vice President for Student Affairs Shin-ichi Tamagawa, and Vice President for Education Satoshi Shimizu. She was accompanied to the courtesy visit by Provost Takeo Yoshida of the School of Human Sciences and Dean Inho Chung of the College of Disability Sciences.


Ms. Takahashi engaged in a conversation with the board of directors about the difficulty of playing goalball and the difference between Japanese and foreign goalball players. During the meeting in a congenial atmosphere, President Nagata draped the second-place medal around her neck.

President Nagata and the vice presidents praised her for her performance and expressed their hope that she will compete in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics as a member of the national goalball team.
